Hurstpierpoint Festival

For the 2009 Hurstpierpoint Festival we again joined forces with the Hurst Festival Choir and the choir of Holy Trinity Church to sing Handel's Messiah. This was a sing from scratch concert and as always, a huge success.

Christmas Concert 2009

Our Christmas concerts are held each year in Hurstpierpoint Village Centre, Trinity Road.

We celebrate the festive season with carols both old and new and at the end of the concert offer mince pies and a glass of wine to the members of the audience. This is always an excellent concert which makes a great start to Christmas!

This year the concert featured the Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

"The best yet!" was one comment from a member of the audience. "The choir gets better and better," from another.

Spring Concert, March 2010

Our Spring concerts in recent years have featured works by Haydn, Schubert, Fauré and Elgar but we have sung a wide range of music over the years including opera choruses and spirituals.

Our Spring Concert this season, for which we were again joined by the excellent Sinfonia da Chiesa and professional soloists, featured

Handel: Passion of Christ and Solos from the Messiah

Bach: Double Violin Concerto and Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring

It was held on

at 7.30pm

in Holy Trinity Church, Hurstpierpoint.

Tickets were available from the Mint House, Hurstpierpoint, Pavillion Electrics, Hassocks, choir members and on the door.

Sussex Festival Choir at Arundel Cathedral

Each July we have the fantastic opportunity to join with Stephen's other choirs and sing as members of the Sussex Festival Choir, performing a major work in Arundel Cathedral.

This July the Sussex Festival Choir will be singing

Walton: Belshazzar's Feast

Bernstein: Chichester Psalms

Parry: I was glad (arr G Jacob)

The performance will be accompanied by the 85 piece Sinfonia da Chiesa and features renowned international soloists Dame Felicity Lott, Dame Ann Murray, Neil Jenkins and Sir Willard White.

Arundel is always an amazing experience and this one is sure to be the same!

Rehearsals for the Arundel concert take place on Tuesdays from April 20th at The Barn, The Causeway, Horsham from 8pm - 10pm. Please contact us for further details or visit the Sussex Festival Choir website.
