The Hurstpierpoint Singers formed in 1950 and, over the years, the group has provided a warm welcome to very many new members, who all enjoy their singing. Our Musical Director is Paul Simpson.
The choir performs at least two concerts each year. In December we have a concert of carols and seasonal music, usually performed in the Hurstpierpoint Village Centre. In the Spring we have a major concert, usually with professional accompanist and soloists and, on occasions, with orchestral accompaniment. These concerts have been held in Holy Trinity Church, Hurstpierpoint, in St Peter's Church, Henfield and more recently in The United Reform Church, Hassocks.
In recent years we have performed works by Bach, Elgar, Fauré, Haydn, Handel, Mozart, Purcell, Rutter, Saint-Saens, Schubert, Stainer and Vivaldi. More full details of the concerts we have given can be found on our Concerts page.
We rehearse on Monday evenings from September to Easter at the Methodist Church in Cuckfield Road, Hurstpierpoint at 7.30pm and we are always very keen to welcome new members. Please click HERE to see the location of the Church on a map.
